SERVICE DETAILS

Palika Maternity Hospital, a 60 bedded hospital in Lodhi Road, New Delhi had major challenges in keeping a track and corresponding records for the newly born infants. Though there was a manual record register but in the recent past were cases of infants being stolen from the hospital or exchanged with some other infant

Why Choose us?

Challenges

1. Heavily relied on hospital staff thereby chances of more and more human errors in record keeping
2. Theft of infants cannot be stopped as there is no provisions of any kind of access control.
3. No physical identification of an infant being mapped to a parent.
4. The movement of the infant was unrestricted and untraceable.

Solution

The first of the process was to add some physically visible identification
to the mothers and their newly born child. This is where wristbands were introduced made of soft polyvinyl to even see they do not harm the
infants delicate skin.
RFID chips were introduced in these wristbands to map the required
information and track the infants and the mother. The solution was
bases on UHF RFID thereby providing long range for tracking movements
in the hospital premises

Effects

The wristbands bought factors of easy identification into picture and was well appreciated by the doctors as well the mothers. The next step lies in moving this onto the RTLS system whereby the same hardware is used to track the doctors in case of emergency and the hospital staff.
